NEW ATTACK AGAINST DAILY "VIJESTI": CAR TORCHED

Podgorica, 13. 02. 2014 (B92) - Unknown perpetrators set fire to the car belonging to the newspaper "Vijesti" this morning in Podgorica, which is another in a series of attacks against the property of this daily.

The Montenegrin police stated that a Nissan vehicle was doused in gasoline and set on fire, and the fire burned up the front of the car.

The police conducted a crime scene investigation and the investigation is ongoing regarding this attack.

This attack is the latest in a series against the property and journalists of the daily "Vijesti". Explosives of great destructive power were thrown on 26 December on the newsroom premises, when great material damage was made, but no injuries were reported.

The newsroom premises were stoned on 8 November, and "Vijesti" was also attacked in October during the Pride parade.

In August last year an explosive device was detonated in front of the home of "Vijesti" journalist Tufik Softic.

The police and prosecutors have not yet resolved a series of "Vijesti" car torching of the summer of 2011, when four vehicles belonging to this daily were torched during several months.
