MINISTER BRADIC AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION SOCIETY MINISTER, JASNA MATIC, AGREED UPON JOINT STRATEGY
A Joint Path to European Laws
Belgrade, September 17, 2008 (Source: Ministry of Culture) – Culture Minister Bradic, and Telecommunications and Information Society Minister, Ms Jasna Matic, have agreed a joint work strategy to amend the laws that regulate the field of electronic communications and media sphere on their joint meeting today. Dragan Janjic, Assistant Culture Minister was also present in this meeting.
Both ministers agreed upon strategic goal that the two fundamentally important laws be passed within the next two years. It was agreed that the Ministry of Culture would work on the Media Act, and that the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Society would work on the Electronic Communications Act.
One of the key short term joint tasks of both the Ministries is to begin working on the frequencies’ digitalization process in Serbia. It was also agreed that a meeting of the representatives of both the Ministries and of the representatives of the relevant independent regulatory bodies be held by the end of this week, to prepare the ground for a special new working group in charge of developing the strategy for digitalisation.
