Sabic: Greater authority to the Commissioner

Belgrade, September 6, 2011 (B92) - The Commissioner for Information of Public Importance, Rodoljub Sabic says that it is necessary to expand the authority if the serious effects of the Law on Free Access to Information of Public Importance are expected.

My colleague from Slovenia imposes penalties and is in charge in misdemeanor proceedings, he said.

Sabic said that the Commissioner is enabled to impose only penalties that are in a function of execution of the Commissioner's decisions and noted that the total amount of fines may not exceed 200,000 dinars. "I have imposed dozens of such penalties and it has given some results," he said.
