56 stations without a license
Belgrade, September, 19, 2011. (Danas) - According to RATEL data, there are 56 stations in Serbia that broadcast program illegally, among which 47 radio and 9 TV stations. The majority of pirate stations operate in Vojvodia (mostly in Novi Sad) and Belgrade.
In line with its legal competencies, RATEL has imitated appropriate measures for stopping the work of illegal broadcasters. According to RATEL, „illegal usage of radio-frequencies creates economic inequality on the broadcasting market, intervenes the work of legal users of radio-frequency spectrum and endangers security of air transport as well as other vital serviced that use this type of communication".
