CALL TO ERADICATE DISCRIMINATION

Belgrade, September 23, 2011. (Blic) - Serbia has to make an extra effort in work for justice and reconciliation, eradicating discrimination and strengthening freedom of media, Thomas Hammarberg, the human rights commissioner of  the Council of Europe stated in the report on situation in Serbia. He commended Serbian authorities for promt reactions to recent attacks on journalists. However, he is concerned over the fact that perpetrators of the murders of journalists have not been punished yet.
