Less that 10 % of cases processed

Belgrade, October 13, 2011. (Danas) - Out of 212 physical and verbal assaults in the last four years, only 17 cases have been processed. However, authorities have been informed only on one third of all cases of threats and attacks against media representatives, while timely reaction of state organs have ensued only every fourth time on average, as evidenced by NUNS.

Since 2008, the number of threats and attacks has been constantly decreasing. Since the beginning of this year, 13 physical and verbal assaults have been recorded, while 143 threats and attacks against journalists have been recorded in 2008. The number of such cases was 37 two years ago, while there were 19 cases in 2010.
