Fight for advertisers

Belgrade, November 4, 2011. (Dnevnik) - The limiting factor for functioning of the media is the economic situation, which is evident from the lack of programs that change the essence of journalism - it was estimated by the participants of the panel called "Fight of the media against the economic crisis". Discussing the issue of media in the economic crisis, at the panel within the Forum of  the media of Southeastern Europe (SEEMS) in the "Sava Center", the representatives of electronic media from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Luxembourg stressed the link between economic motivation and the market.

- High level of investments is a precondition for performing a job professionally. The state should grant licenses according to clear criteria, given that the role of the media is of particular importance for business development in the country - says media expert Peter Punčev from Sofia.

Representative of a Serbian media outlet, TV B-92 Veran Matic recalled that the market set the rules and place for all players in this field, and society as a whole.
