The background of attacks on the "Novosti" journalist
Mitrić still under police protection

Loznica, December 3, 2011. (Vecernje Novosti) - Journalist Vladimir Mitric, correspondent of "Vecernje Novosti" from Loznica, who was beated by policeofficer Ljubinko Todorovic in Loznica in 2005, filed the proposal to the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Loznica to examine the background of Todorovic's criminal act. Todorovic was sentenced to one year in prison, by the the Court of Appeal's verdict, which is doubled comparing to the first-instance verdict.

After the attack on Mitric, UNS, the Loznica parliament and general public reacted with a request to authorities to determine the principals. Due to potential attacks, the journalist has been under police protection since.
