UNS CONDEMNED THREATS TO TV APATIN

Belgrade, January 17, 2012 (Dnevnik) - Journalists' Association of Serbia (UNS) has condemned threats made to TV Apatin by the president of Apatin Municipal Council of the Socialist Movement Marko Knezevic on Facebook and YouTube, the FoNet reported.

UNS stated that Knezevic had cast statuses on his Facebook profile in which he had called TV Apatin unprofessional and media of the regime, insulting the station's staff and announcing its blockage. In a video uploaded on YouTube, Knezevic called on blocking of the TV Apatin in February 2012, says in the statement.

UNS has warned Knezevic that under the Criminal Code, any unauthorized preventing or obstructing of radio and TV program broadcasting is a criminal offence carrying a punishment of pecuniary or up to 1 year prison sentence.
