PROBLEMS WITH ILLEGAL BROADCASTERS

Belgrade, February 25, 2012 (Danas) - Members of the Council of the Republican Broadcasting Agency (RBA) held a meeting with representatives of broadcasters in western Serbia and discussed the problems of illegal broadcasting. Representatives of broadcasters pointed out extremely difficult financial situation that they face, due to large number of stations that broadcast without license. At the meeting, it was agreed that a meeting on the same topic with other authorities should be organized during the next week. Since 2008 RBA has brought ​​258 decisions on banning illegal broadcasting, 123 requests for initiation of misdemeanor proceedings and filed 167 criminal charges.
