EXPERIMENTAL DIGITAL TV SIGNAL STARTS TOMORROW

Belgrade, March 20, 2012 (Danas) - Test broadcasting of digital TV signal will start tomorrow in Serbia from 15 locations, the public company "Broadcasting Equipment and Communications" has announced.

10 programs will be broadcast in standard definition and one in high definition, under the decision of the Republic Broadcasting Agency (RBA).

The experimental phase of broadcasting will serve to measure the real situation, to test the system, transmitters, receivers, different parameters and possibilities to expand the coverage.

To receive the digital signal, the citizens will need special TV set with DVB-T2 tuner or special piece of equipment that will decode digital signal and enable its viewing on standard TV set (set-top box).
