CURUVIJA'S MURDERERS STILL WALK FREE

Belgrade, April 11, 2011 (24 sata) - Independent Journalists' Association of Serbia (NUNS) and Journalists' Association of Serbia (UNS) are marking 13 years since the murder of journalist and owner of "Daily telegraf" Slavko Curuvija by laying wreaths on his memorial.

Even 13 years after the assassination, the perpetrators have not been identified. Curuvija was murdered on Easter Day in front of his building in the center of Belgrade with 17 shots fired at him by unknown assailants. His murder came during the air raids on Serbia, five days after the then daily "Politika Ekspres" had published an article accusing him of "treason".
