Research on media freedoms during pre-election campaign in Vojvodina

Nedim Sejdinović, Independent Journalists' Association of Vojvodina (NDNV)

Novi Sad, May 16, 2012. (Danas, Beta) - Nedim Sejdinović from NDNV said that politicians in Serbia still see the media as a means for achieving their goals.

- They fail to recognize that the function of the media is to control the government - Sejdinović said at the presentation of the research on media freedoms during pre-election campaign in Vojvodina. According to him, it is important that journalists' associations react to cases of direct threats to media freedoms, but the problem is that these cases generally do not have a judicial epilogue. He reminded that cases of killings of journalists have not been solved yet.
