New Serbia leader apologizes to journalist and B92

Belgrade, July, 19, 2012 (B92) - New Serbia (NS) party president Velimir Ilić on Thursday apologized to B92, and the host of the media outlet's popular talk show "Impression of the Week".

"Although I have been a negative inspiration for B92 TV for a while now, and although I believe that a political campaign against me and my associates is being conducted by this television, I still wish to say that I reacted strongly during the New Serbia news conference held on July 17, 2012," said Ilić, and added:

"I wish to take this opportunity and apologize to B92 TV and Mrs. Bećković."

Ilić was referring to his statements made two days ago, when he once again verbally attacked B92 and Olja Bećković, who hosts the talk show aired late on Sundays.

On the occasion, the NS leader said Bećković was among those who had launched "a media campaign against him", and wondered whether the journalist was "healthy", suggesting also that she should be "legally reeducated".
