Tijanic irreplaceable

Belgrade, August 9, 2012 (Kurir) - Despite announcements that he would be replaced as soon as the new government is formed, Aleksandar Tijanic remains director of the Public Service by the end of the second term in 2014, daily Kurir reports. Therefore, RTS will be headed by Tijanic for a decade.

Kurir recalls that since 2004, when he was appointed director of RTS for the first time, Tijanić "escorted" three governments and each time readily welcomed a new one, which happened this time too.

He will remain at the forefront of national television by the end of the second term, expiring 2014. During election campaign, Progressive Party's leaders stated that they would replace Tijanic when they come to power. This intention is apparently abandoned, and SNS representatives did not wanted to explain the reason to Kurir.

Deputy President of RRA Council, Goran Karadzic, told Kurir that the selection of general director of RTS was carried out in accordance with the Broadcasting Law. "After he applied for the position in an open competition, RTS Managing Board elected him again", Karadzic said.
