OBRADOVIC: RTS TO HEED EDUCATION

Belgrade, August 28, 2012 (Danas) - The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development will require from RTS the higher level of attention paid and space given to education in their TV program, the Education Minister Zarko OBradovic announced.

"This is not a need of the Ministry, but the need of Serbia", said the Minister. He also said that educational program needed to restore its former glory and that, if there were no funds for new TV productions, then the old series, such as "The World of Survivor" or the one of Timothy John Byford, should be included in the program scheme.

Obradovic warned that the public service broadcaster was treating the educational aspect only in the form of sporadic cases, without any solid concept.

"It is not a rare case that education was by-passed in program concepts and replaced with other seemingly more important things", the Minister concluded.
