INSIDER – MORE THAN A SERIES

Belgrade, August 19, 2012 (Press) - According to readers' opinion, TV B92's documentary series "Insider" is the best TV program aired in Serbia. The series, authored by the journalist Brankica Stanovic, dealt with the investigation of a number of sensitive social-political topics, particularly the programs about "football mafia" and business management in "Kolubara" mine basin, after which, court proceedings were initiated.

The programs revealed evidence on corruption, crimes at the state level, links between the mafia, business, sport and politics, due to which the journalist's safety was jeopardized and police protection assigned. At the end of 2009, the journalist was publicly threatened with death by a number of hooligans, however, the Belgrade court had discarted the case in April 2010.

The author of the series Brankica Stanovic was two-time winner of the "Jug Grizelj" award for investigative journalism.

The second best TV program voted by the Press readers is several times awarded "Squaring the Circle", airing on RTS. The program, authored by Branko Stankovic, has been dealing for 10 years with the people important for the society - creators, innovators, talented, noble and less than ordinary people and their fates.
