LOWER FEES FOR MUSIC

Belgrade, September 11, 2012 (Tanjug, B92) - All radio and TV stations that have signed an agreement with SOKOJ will pay less for broadcasting music work in 2012.

This has been ensured by the Protocol on discounts, signed between this collective organization and Association of Independent Electronic Media (ANEM).

As stated by ANEM, this Protocol ensures the considerable discounts and benefits for paying the minimum free for 2012 and at the same time regulates the issue of outstanding debts of stations from previous period.

The Protocol shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia. ANEM pointed out that the Protocol represented a final stage in the enduring efforts to adapt the fees to the conditions in which the electronic media in Serbia operated.

"The Protocol provides for disounts in paying the minimum fees ranging from, in certain cases, 75 percent of the valid tarif, as well as benefits reflecting in the possibility to settle outstanding debts from the previous period in several installments, interest free, or part of the interest in cases where the legal actions have been taken", ANEM stated.

The Protocol also stipulates free trainings for using an online portal for submitting program lists, which would be organized by SOKOJ for all interested stations in September and October this year.

In addition, ANEM and SOKOJ will analyize the effects of the application of the Protocol during the autumn, with the aim to reach a new agreement on fees in 2013, it was said in the statement.

ANEM called on its members and other broadcasters in Serbia to use these discounts and benefits ensured by the Protocol and particularly to take active part in the trainings, so as to avoid any situation in the future that might lead to a litigation over the incorrect filing of program lists.
