Police officers PUNISHED after beating up editor of NIN

Belgrade, October 9, 2012. (Alo!) - Police director Milorad Veljovic informed the editor in chief of weekly NIN, Nebojsa Spaic, that there were failures in treatment of NIN technical editor Vladimir Piacun during his arrest in August 2012. Due to this, adequate disciplinary measures were initiated against two responsible police officers. He said that the police and journalists were always in the service of the state and society, and that this particular case should not illustrate conduct of police officers.  Namely, after a traffic incident, technical editor of NIN was beaten by two members of the Belgrade police. The incident was captured by security cameras.
