RTV 5 TO BE SHUT DOWN?

Nis, October 22, 2012. (Blic) - The most popular and the oldest local TV station in Nis - RTV 5 is about to be closed due to debts to the Republic Broadcasting Agency (RBA). Its broadcasting frequency was revoked by RBA in the end of August and excluded from the SBB cable system in October. Audience could watch their program now only through the cable system Jotel and TV's website. "Our fate is now uncertain, but we decided to fight and if we are banned to work in the studio, the program will be broadcast from the streets. We have to fight for our employees" - says Sladjana Ostojic, editor in chief. She points out that TV 5 has not received a penny from the city budget, although it has the highest rating in Nis.
