RBA against RTS' proposal on subscription fee

Belgrade, 22.10.2012 (Kurir, B92) - Goran Karadzic from RBA believes that charging RTV subscription fee directly from employees' accounts is not a good idea.

"Not all Serbian citizens are employed. I do not think a blockage of citizens' accounts is a good way to finance RTS" - said Goran Karadzic, RBA vice-president.

Goran Karadzic says that commission composed by representatives of RBA and RTS do not exist. He also says that the proposed solution is unfeasible, namely that subscription fee is taken from employed citizens' accounts automatically.

"National Assembly should pass a law that will be in citizens' interest but also solve the problem of financing of national television" - Karadzic said, adding that the RBA has not established any commission on this issue and that the allegations on that were untrue.
