Protest of the local media

Pozarevac, October 24, 2012. (Vecernje novosti) - Radio Boom 93 has ceased publishing news on activities of the local government to protest  against the method of allocation of budgetary funds intended for local media.

Editorial team and employees of this radio station find that budget money is allocated non-transparently and without clear criteria. Other local media share this stand:  TV 012, Hit Radio, the weekly "Okrug" and the monthly magazine "Nova Rec".

- Our request is that distribution of funds should be done on public competitions and for the purpose of funding the projects that provide quality information. Also, the demand is to establish an independent commission to decide on the allocation of funds -employees of Radio Bum 93 say.
