B92 chief wins lifetime achievement award

Belgrade, October 30, 2012 (B92) - The inaugural Press Vitez Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented next month to B92 TV Director Veran Matić, it has been announced.

The TV festival's council decided to honor Matić as a professional whose personal courage and innovative approach contributed greatly to the development of television and investigative reporting in Serbia.

The awards ceremony will be held on November 9 at the Club of Deputies of the Vojvodina Assembly, the organizers said.

State and provincial officials will be presenting the awards, along with the members of the jury.

The names of other recipients will not be known before the ceremony. They, however, come from a number of media outlets, including RTS, Montenegro's TV Crne Gore, Bosnia's TV BN, and others.

Guests of honor at this year's festival will include Montenegro's Assistant Minister of Culture for Media Željko Rutović, it has been announced.
