TRUTH ABOUT MURDERS

Belgrade, January 28, 2013 (Vecernje Novosti) - The first sitting of the Commission for examining facts found during the investigation of murders of journalists in Serbia is scheduled for today. The Commission will establish the working methods and will review the documents on hitherto results of investigation of deaths of Dada Vujasinovic, Slavko Curuvija and Milan Pantic.

The Commission has two years mandate, which will be possible to extend if results of the work are not sufficient. Motives for these three murders, according to police allegations and findings, are believed to be hidden in texts written and published by the three journalists.

The Commission that was recently established by the Serbian Government is presided by B92 chief-editor Veran Matic. Other members of the commission are Police Director Milorad Veljovic, Chief of Criminal Police General Rodoljub Milovic, Chief of Department in Serbian Ministry of Interior Slavisa Softic and Zeljko Raseta, Ivica Petrovic and Nebojsa Vujcic from Security Intelligence Agency (BIA), as well as journalists Ljiljana Smajlovic from UNS, Vesna Malisic and Branislav Jovanovic.
