RBA COUNCIL ENDED “CHEATERS”

Belgrade, February 13, 2013 (RBA) - The RBA Council ended today the procedure for conveying measures to the broadcaster TV Pink for the show "Preljubnici" (the Cheaters), aired on Friday, February 8, over the content that may cause physical, mental or ethical harm to children's and youth's development.

The broadcaster has been ordered not to air the specific show "Cheaters" and other programs with similar content before midnight. The Council has also warned the representatives of the broadcaster TV Pink to label all its programs with appropriate age-based audience guideline ratings system, as provided for in the General Binding Instruction of the RBA.

The RBA Council also warned TV Pink that the content of this program was in direct contravention to the Broadcasting Law and General Binding Instruction for Broadcasters' Conduct (the Code) and obliged the broadcater to convey this public statement in its main news bulletins, with the proper apology to audience.

Due to the disputed content, a claim for initiating legal proceedings was filed against TV Pink, in line with the law.
