AIR RAID VICTIMS’ FAMILIES FILED A REQUEST WITH THE COMMISSION

Belgrade, March 5, 2013 (Blic) - Representing the families of RTS workers killed in the NATO air raids back in 1999, Zanka Stojanovic and the Center for Euro-Atlantic Studies in Belgrade (CEAS) filed a request for urgent inclusion of at least one representative of the victims' families in the composition of the Commission investigating the murders of journalists.

The request was filed with the president of the Commission, Veran Matic and first deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.

The families and CEAS have proposed to the Commission and the Serbian Government Miroslav Bojcic, former editor in the Beta news agency, who had been investigating the case of RTS for years, and/or Zoran Janic, author of the book "Silence in Aberdareva Street" as members to the Commission that would represent the families of the victims.

Families and the CEAS have supported the decision of the Commission and the Government to have accepted their initiative to include the RTS case in the commission's mandate.
