Serbia to sign a memorandum with country of censorship

Belgrade, March 13, 2013. (Blic) - Serbia will sign a memorandum on cooperation with Belarus in the field of media and publishing. According to the report of Reporters Without Borders, this country is positioned at 157th place out of 174 countries by the criteria of freedom of media, namely the state control over the media. Belarus government controls four national televisions, while opposition media are in precarious position.

The Serbian Government headed by President Nikolic travels to Belarus. Culture and Media Minister Bratislav Petkovic will sign the Memorandum. Yesterday, it was not possible to obtain the Memorandum and no one had answer to why Serbia signed a cooperation agreement with the state that was among the last in freedom of the press.
