Matic in commission for murder of journalists

Belgrade, March 27, 2013. (Danas) - The records of the Ministry of Interior and the BIA on murders of Slavko Curuvija, Dada Vujasinovic and Milan Pantic are now available to Commission for investigation of murders of journalists while the data of the Prosecutor are still awaited, said the Chairman of the Commission, Veran Matic.

When asked whether the records of the police and BIA contain information that has not been known to the public, Matic says that he could not speak about it since these cases were still open.

- The Commission is working hard on the investigation of the murders of journalists and what is important is that this became daily work and not something that is mentioned once. Matic also said there were positive shifts in each of these cases.

The Commission was initiated by Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic whose proposal was accepted by the Government on January 24. Beside Matić, the Commission members include UNS President Ljiljana Smajlović, Branislav Jovanović from Jagodina, Police Director Milorad Veljović, UKP chief Rodoljub Milović, Slaviša Softić (MUP), Željko Rašeta (BIA), and Neboša Vujičić (BIA).
