NO MONEY FOR CRITICIAL MEDIA

Belgrade, March 29, 2013 (B92) - Member of the Commission in Cacak for allocating funds to media Mirjana Djokovic from SNS says she will see that the media criticizing this political party do not get a cent from the budget.

Cacak-based weekly Cacanske novine and radio Ozon, which operate within the media company "Jutro Production", have officially requested her exemption from the Commission. However, the City Council has rejected this request.

Chief Editor of Cacanske novine Stojan Markovic believes this decision is "scandalous".

"The credibility of the Commission has thus been compromised. The media is given the message that they should be politically suited", Markovic told Beta news agency.

Cacak local self-government has allocated 13 million dinars in the budget for public information.
