19 YEARS LONG MISTERY OF JOURNALIST’S DEATH

Belgrade, April 9, 2013 (Dnevnik) - 19 years have passed since the murder of the weekly "Duga" journalist Radislava Dada Vujasinovic.

Her death has remained the mistery for amost two decades.

On January 24 this year, the Government of Serbia formed the Commission for establishing facts obtained in the investigation of murders of journalists, chaired by Veran Matic, whi said that the establishing of this Commission was the evidence that there was a serious political and institutional will in this country to solve the murders of journalists.

Dada Vujasinovic was murdered on April 8, 1994. She was reporting from war lines for the weekly "Duga", about the Belgrade underground, as well as close connections between politics and criminal groups. For almost 15 years, her death was labeled as suicide, when in January 2009, the Prosecutor's Office declared her death as murder.
