CURUVIJA CASE WILL BE SOLVED!

Belgrade, April 11, 2013 (Nedeljnik) - The first man of the recently established Commission for investigating murders of journalists says the killings were the trademark of the regime and the system that had failed to identify perpetrators and those behind the crimes, bring them to justice and punish them.

"I believe it is possible to solve the murder of Slavko Curuvija, and it should be our main endeavor", Chairman of the Commission, Veran Matic, told Nedeljnik.

"It would not be possible without even stronger support of the media and general, pro-democratic public. My impression is that in the last two months, the idea on establishing and engaging such Commission has not have the sufficient support within the profession and from the public. The Commission will still be able to produce some result even without this support, however, it would be much easier if a greater level of solidarity and support to this proces was demonstrated", Matic explained.
