PRACTICAL GUIDE OF PRESS COUNCIL

Belgrade, April 25, 2013 (Press Council) - The most interesting cases which the Press Council's Complaints Commission was deciding on in the first half of the year have been summed up and published in the brochure intended for the judicial and other institutions and individiuals advocating for ethical standards in media.

"Complaints Commission's Practical Guide" presents nine decisions of the Commission passed on the obligation to act with due journalistic care, objective reporting, privacy of "common citizens", criticism of public figures, minority groups' rights and protection of copyright and related rights, foreseen by the Serbian Journalists' Code.

This Guide is printed within the project of acquainting judges and prosecutors in Serbia with the work of the Council, within which the representatives of the judicial bodies and institutions will be able to attend seminars organized in six different cities in the country.

The first two seminars are scheduled for April 19 and 23 in Nis and Zlatibor.
