TV NOVA AND RTL IN RACE FOR FREQUENCY

Belgrade, May 3, 2013 (Blic) - RTL and TV Nova are two main candidates for the frequency of the former TV Avala, the daily Blic finds out of the record.

Republic Broadcasting Agency (RBA) has called the competition for issuing license for broadcasting for K5 Network, namely former frequency of recently closed TV Avala. This means that Serbia might get a new national broadcaster in a matter of two to three months.

As Blic previously reported, German RTL has already operated on the Serbian market. The television is currently working on equipping and packaging of program. The entire project is managed by the former TV Prva director Dejan Jocic.

The call for frequency competition has been called only recently, and will be open for applications for 60 days", RBA Deputy Chairman Goran Karadzic said.

Public is speculating on TV Svet Plus, now TV Sky Plus as one of the aspirants for the frequency. Sladjana Ivancevic, responsible editor of this television station, has denied the allegations.
