WORKING GROUP AGAINST ABOLITION OF TV FEE

Belgrade, May 14, 2013 (Blic, B92) - Members of the working group is against the idea of direct funding of public service broadcaster RTS from the public budget funds, the daily Blic reported.

The Draft Law on Electronic Media provides for the Radio Television of Serbia and Radio Television of Vojvodina be financed directly from the budget until December 31, 2015. Experts from the working group drafting the law have refused to give consent to such proposal of representatives of Culture Ministry.

According to the lawyer Slobodan Kremenjak, member of the working group, one solution is to increase the sense of responsibility of the public service in spending such funds, but also of citizens in paying the TV fee.
