PROSECUTION BETWEEN ILIC AND JESIC

Novi Sad, May 16, 2013 (Beta, B92) - The public prosecutor's office has prevented the enforcement of the final judgment against the president of Nova Srbija Velimir Ilic in the case filed against him by journalist Vladimir Jesic, Ilic's attorney at law says.

Journalist from Novi Sad Vladimir Jesic had sued president of Nova Srbija political party and the minister in the Serbian Government Velimir Ilic for damages as the minister had kicked journalist of the TV Apolo, insulted him and tried to physically attack him in the party's premises back in 2003.

The Higher Court in Novi Sad ruled in favor of Jesic and the verdict was then confirmed by the Court of Appeals. The verdict became final on March 21 this year, according to which Ilic was sentenced to pay Jesic 1.3 million dinars worth of damages.
