NEW MODEL OF FINANCING CRUCIAL

Belgrade, May 20, 2013 (Blic) - Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia Vincent Degert said he was hoping the Draft Law on Public Information and Media would be tabled to the Serbian Government and adopted without any major amendments.

Degert drew attention to the extreme importance of the law and said "it should be adopted just because of the way it had amended the existing financing model of media".

The draft text of the law is aligned with the EU legislation, Degert reminded and said that, besides the Ministry of Culture and Media, other interested parties active in this field were also involved in its creation.
