JOURNALISTS’ ASSOCIATIONS: FREE MACEDONIAN JOURNALIST

Belgrade, June 4, 2013 (Danas) - Journalists' associations from Serbia and Montenegro issued the joint statement yesterday demanding the Macedonian police to free journalist Tomislav Kezarovski.

Kezarovski was taken to custody over the exposal of identity of a protected witness.

Journalists' Association of Serbia (UNS), Independent Journalists' Association of Serbia (NUNS) and Journalists' Association of Montenegro (UNCG) have backed up the request of their colleagues from Macedonia, protesting on Friday in Skopje and demanding urgent release of the journalist.

Journalist of the Nova Makedonija daily Tomislav Kezarovski was arrested on Tuesday May 28, and taken into custody for 30 days, for writing the text back in 2008 published in former Reporter 92. In the article, Kezarovski had revealed the identity of the protected witness, who was later exposed to be a false witness in a court proceedings.
