RBA’S CRITERIA FOR TV LICENSE

Belgrade, July 16, 2013 (Politika) - The Republic Broadcasting Agency (RBA) released yesterday the criteria for evaluating applications of TV stations Kopernikus and Nova for national frequency formerly occupied by TV Avala.

The RBA Council will publish the results of interviews with the two candidates before deciding on issuing the national broadcasting license.

The decision is expected to be made on the basis of the evaluation of business statements of the candidates, audience ratings of the stations, their experiences in the field of broadcasting and predominant activity, the contributions made to the improvement of domestic broadcasting sphere, warranties of the stations for greater quality and variety of program offer etc.

The Council will also evaluate the conduct the candidates, in terms of previous conduct and behavior during the competition, transparency of ownership structure and origin of the capital. The Council is expected to decide on the successful candidate in no later than 30 days.
