Philharmonic director to be proposed for culture minister

Belgrade, August 29, 2013 (Tanjug) - Ivan Tasovac, the director of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, will be proposed for Minister of Culture, Serbian Prime Minister and Ivica Dacic told Tanjug late Wednesday.

Dacic, also the leader of the Socialist Party of Serbia, said that he and Tasovac had agreed that he be nominated for the new minister of culture and
information.

Tasovac is a pianist, and director of the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra since March 2001.

Born as a son of an actor Predrag Tasovac, Ivan graduated from the Piano Department of the Conservatory "Petar Ilic Tchaikovsky" in Moscow, as
a student of Professor Sergei Dorensky.

He is also a member of the jury in a Serbian TV talent show competition which originates from the Got Talent franchise.
