7.5 MILLION DINARS FOR RTS AND RTV

Belgrade, November 5, 2013 (RTV) - Both public service broadcasters in Serbia, RTS and RTV, will be allocated a total of 7.5 million dinars from the budget for next year.

Financing of public service broadcasters from the budget funds means the citizens will not pay TV subscription fee anymore, as its collection rate was so low that it has failed to provide for unhindered functioning of the two public services.

Budget financing will be introduced with the application of the new Law on public service broadcasters, which is still in the adoption procedure.

According to the information coming from the Ministry of Culture and Media, the Draft Law on Public Service Broadcasters should be delivered to the Parliament after November 15.
