Ten Years of the Association of Media

Belgrade, 31 January 2014 (RTS) - Media Association celebrated a decade of existence. Fair and equitable market conditions and equal starting positions were requested at the reception.

At a reception on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Media Association, fair and equitable market conditions and equal starting positions were requested. Media Association gathers eighteen members - newspaper publishers, news agencies and online portals in Serbia.

The Association was created with the idea of a joint approach towards the state, advertisers, distributors and printers, and a desire to protect the interests of the media and create a more favorable business environment.

"We expect that the state lifts its institutional influence on the media by withdrawing from media ownership and create a space for free market competition with the cessation of direct budget funding", Chairman of the Managing Board of the Media Association Zoran Sekulic said.

Media Association is a co-founder of the Press Council. Its representatives participated in the development of Media Strategy and the Draft Law on Public Information.
