LJILJANA SMAJLOVIĆ PRESIDENT OF THE PRESS COUNCIL MANAGING BOARD

04. 04. 2014 (Tanjug) - The Press Council announced today that it has a new Managing Board, headed by Ljiljana Smajlović, president of the Journalists' Association of Serbia (UNS) and editor-in-chief of the daily "Politika".

Deputy president is Dejan Miladinović, president of the Managing Board of the Association of Publishers of Local Media "Lokal Press," according to the Press Council statement.

The Independent Journalists' Association Serbia (NUNS) is represented by Dragan Janjić and Momčilo Pantelić, while the Journalists' Association of Serbia, is represented by Zoran Stanojević in addition to Ljiljana Smajlović.

The Media Association will in the next four-year period be represented by Zlata Kureš (Beta) , Milenko Vasović (Ringier Axel Springer), and Pavle Savović (Telegraf.rs).

The founders of the Press Council, a self-regulatory body that decides on the compliance with the Code of Journalists of Serbia in print and online media, are the two journalists' associations and two associations of publishers.

The recent president of the Press Council was Nadezda Gaće, director and editor-in-chief of "Novi Magazin".
