OSCE CONDEMNS ATTACKS ON JOURNALISTS

Belgrade, February 26, 2008 (Danas) – Hans Ola Urstad, the head of the OSCE Mission to Serbia, has condemned the attacks on journalists who were reporting from the protest "Kosovo is Serbia" in Belgrade and demanded better protection for media professionals.

In a statement issued yesterday, OSCE has warned that "aimed or non-selective violence or threats to those reporting from events constitutes a serious violation of the right of journalists to freely perform their job".

Urstad has also condemned direct threats against TV B92 and other media outlets, and urged to provide better protection for journalists in Serbia.
