RBA and OSCE ANNOUNCED NEW RULES FOR CABLE OPERATORS
Republic Broadcasting Agency representatives announced that the representatives of the OSCE Mission to Serbia and members of the Republic Broadcasting Agency (RBA) ended today's meeting with a conclusion that after the process of radio and television stations broadcasting licences allocation another task had remained to be performed – that of regulating the broadcasting sector, and before all regulating of cable programmes broadcasting.
Belgrade, August 08, 2008 (Tanjug News Agency) – OSCE representatives expressed their support for the RBA efforts to adopt the necessary legal regulatory framework and to regulate the sector of cable programmes broadcasting, the RBA statement says.
The representatives of the OSCE Mission to Serbia attended a meeting in the RBA premises to express support of that Agency to fully regulate the sector of analogue broadcasting in the following period.
RBA and Republic Telecommunications Agency issued recently an official statement saying that by August 31 of this year all radio and television stations that remained without their broadcasting licence should discontinue broadcasting their programmes.
