POLICE FOUND THE PERSON WHO HAD THREATENED A JOURNALIST
Zrenjanin, September 26, 2008 (Danas) – The police identified Ljubiša K. from Zrenjanin as the person who threatened by phone to Ljiljana Stupar, a journalist from the same town, stated the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs. The police confirmed that the threats to the journalist of the „Zrenjanin“ magazine and the reporter of „Blic“ and the „Beta“ agency had not been motivated by her professional activities, or had had any connection with her journalistic articles. The journalist had recorded a part of the telephone conversation and gave it to the police.
Criminal proceedings will commence against Ljubiša K. (30) under the suspicion that he has committed a crime of jeopardizing one’s safety. The mobile phone from which the threat to the journalist had been made was found with Zoran P. (44) from Zrenjanin. Ljiljana Stupar received the call on Monday evening. The voice on the other side of the line told her „not to stick her nose where it did not not belong and to stop writing“, since the blackmailer had the photograph of her daughter.
Stupar guessed that the whole thing might have been provoked by her articles on privatization, although she had not dealt with the topic for months.
