Journalists Protest Against Newspaper Fine

BELGRADE, June 18, 2002 - The Association of Serbian Journalists and the Association of Yugoslav Journalists yesterday protested against the fine of 15,000 Euros recently imposed on Podgorica daily Dan. The fine came after the paper was convicted of causing emotional suffering to Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic by reprinting an article from Zagreb weekly Nacional. The journalists in a statement described as inadmissible the imposition of a fine for republishing material from other publications.
