Honour and Reputation Cannot Be Defended in Court

BELGRADE, June 24, 2002 - An increasing number of journalists are being sued by politicians and government officials for criticising their work, president of the Yugoslav Committee of Human Rights Lawyers Biljana Kovaceviæ-Vuc said today. In the US, for example, journalists are allowed to deal with the most intimate details from the lives of public persons, including politicians, while it goes without saying that a citizen is completely protected," said Vuc.
