BELGRADE, July 4, 2002 - ANEM today protested over the sacking of journalists from the Leskovac weekly Nasa rec. Verica Batorevic-Bozovic, Slobodan Tomic and Ljiljana Stojanovic received letters of dismissal by mail this week after having refused to sign employment contracts with whose provisions they disagreed. The letters were signed by Acting Director Andreja Tomasevic whose contract of employment expired seven months ago. The journalists had been subject to harassment and threats prior to the sacking.
