UNS Condemns Employee Sackings

BELGRADE, July 5, 2002 - The Association of Serbian journalists has strongly condemned the pressure exerted on journalists in Serbia. Three Leskovac "Nas Rec" journalists were sacked the day before yesterday. Four of the six TV Smederevo journalists have been suspended - Radovan Jevtoviæ, Biljana Markoviæ, Jelena Iliæ and Olivera Miloseviæ - and two of three journalists-newscasters Natasa Milovanoviæ and Nada Knjeginiæ, because they attended the Association of Journalists' inaugural assembly while on sick-leave.
