Prosecution Request Re-Opening of Dada Vujasinovic Case

BELGRADE, July 7, 2002- The Belgrade prosecutor has filed a request for the re-opening of an investigation into the death of journalist Dada Vujasinovic. Vujasinovic was found dead in her apartment on April 8, 1994. An investigation pointed to suicide. However, the family of the deceased hired a team of experts that has requested the case be reopened, casting doubt over whether Vujasinovic could have committed suicide with a hunting rifle. In 1998 the District Court conducted a second investigation, the results of which were never published. Suspicion has been raised at the fact two different blood types were found next to the body.
